Card Box

I'm thinking of something like this for the gift card box at the wedding. It's a glass presentation box. There's a slit on top for the cards and can be engraved with the wedding info. After the wedding, it can be used to display our wedding items, such as the invite, garter, flowers, or whatever is small enough to fit inside.

This is our card box, now in our home, holding some wedding momentos.

Toasting Flutes

I saw these Swarovski Toasting Flutes before I even met my fiance, and just knew I had to have them for the day I married. My sister, my MOH, bought these for us as an engagement/Xmas present. I don't cry easily, but I was moved to tears when I opened the box. This is, by far, one of the nicest things my sister has ever done for me.

Escort Cards

I can not believe how much time and effort was put into deciding how to do our escort cards. My Mom and I googled for hours, looking for unique ideas, and kept coming back to the crystal prism cards. Then, we were throwing out all kinds of crazy ideas on how to display them. Finally....I found something! It's called a Fotofall Photo Tree, and we'll be using them like the picture below. They're 55 inches tall and can hold 36 pictures/cards. They remind me of palm trees and/or fireworks, both of which have something to do with my wedding. Craig thought they looked like a first grade art project, but he totally lacks any imagination (and why his only involvement in the wedding planning is the music). I'm still undecided exactly how I want the cards to be (round, diamond-shaped or square, colored cards or ivory) but we have plenty of time to make some samples, and I definately want to use the flowers as shown. I'll be ordering the crystal prisms from a seller on eBay. Found the photo trees at www.abbeypress.com for a fantastic price, and ordered three of them. Hopefully, after the wedding, I'll be able to sell them for close to what I paid for them. At least, I'm crossing my fingers I can, as they were more pricy than I wanted to go.

To the right is a mock-up of our escort cards. Not sure if we're going to keep the round crystal or just go with the tear drop one.

UPDATEThe photofall display turned out to be a FAIL of monumental proportions!  On the Monday evening before the wedding....yes, six days before....we finished the escort cards and decided to make a  mock up to photograph for the venue (in order show how to set it up).  My Mom put an escort card on one of the wires...so far so good...and then took it off, as a guest would.....and the wire goes springing back up and just about hit her in the face! After Craig and she attempted several tries, all with the same results, we realized it was a lawsuit waiting to happen.  We immediately ran to the computer to google for other ideas.  By 2AM, nothing could be found that we liked and we went to bed, very dejected.  On Tuesday, five days before the wedding, we ran to our florist/event planner and begged her help.  She came up with a modified crystal tree display....branches painted silver, arranged in a glass vase matching our floral centerpieces, with crystal bead strands and crystal globes. We had to add ribbon to each of our escort cards and they were hung from the branches. In all honesty, it was a thousand times nicer than our original concept and in the end, cost just a bit more than the three, now useless, photofall trees we purchased.

Photo Display

Instead of doing the typical photo display table, I've decided to use memory books I've made for Craig as an anniversary gift each year we've been together. They're written as a story book, with pictures. By the time of the wedding, we'll have three of them. I bought three of the easels pictured below to display them.

Table Numbers

We'll be using table number cards, similar to the ones on the left, but draping crystals along the bottom of them. We bought the ornament stands, for $3 a piece. The numbers are made from Swarovski crystals. The picture doesn't do them justice.

Tables

I'm still hoping to rent silver Chivari chairs, but the budget is stretched so thin at this point, not sure we can afford them. I love these lucite ones and found a company out of Brooklyn that has them for the same price as NJ companies are charging for regular silver chairs. I haven't called yet to find out if they'll deliver to NJ. Our venue provides white linen and we bought fuschia dinner napkins to add some color to the table.  it was actually cheaper to buy them than to rent them.  Below is a mock up of the napkins and menu cards.

Room Decor

Our florist is also an event planner, and she's going to be dressing up the room just a bit. We chose our venue primarily for the magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately, their ballrooms with this view are rather bland. She's using white, wrought iron chandeliers of various sizes, with hanging crystals and battery -operated candles, hung from the ceiling and scattered over the dance floor. Below is a picture of something similar to them. She last used them for her own daughter's' wedding, so while I'm not 100% able to see the big picture, I do trust her vision.
