Rehearsal Dinner Favors

Since our rehearsal dinner is before the actual rehearsal, and required everyone to either take the day off from work, or leave early, we wanted to find a small way to show our gratitude.  We found a local winery,Tomasello Winery, that sells half bottles of wine, with custom labels, for only $4 a bottle. We're getting a mix of red and white wines. Below are the labels they designed for us.

Bon Fire Favors

After the rehearsal, if the weather co-operates, we are having a pre-wedding celebration on the beach for all our OOT guests and family members. We'll have a bon fire with s'mores and soft drinks. We bought flip flops at Old Navy during a huge sale, and will display them in a basket.

Reception Favors

While we're not having a beach-themed wedding, we do want to subtly acknowledge the Jersey Shore. For favors, we are giving salt water taffy. Not sure if we're going to put some taffy in a box, with just a bow, or try to copy a typical salt water taffy box you would get at the boardwalk, but personalize it for our wedding. These are some ideas we have.

Using a vintage postcard as a guide, below is the postcard design my sister Robin did, as well as a mockup of the favor box. Just needs a few tweeks and this is good to go.We'll print them as photos and glue them to the tote boxes we found. We'll either tie a tag on the handle with raffia, or put a sticker on the back, thanking our guests for sharing in our day. Taffy, of course, will be bought locally the week of the wedding, so it's at its freshest. I like how these came out so much, I'm now thinking of maybe also including them in our OOT bags, as true postcards.

Photobooth/Guestbook

Picture
We really wanted to do something different and unique at our wedding, and after throwing some different ideas around, decided on a photobooth/guest book.  We really liked how it tied in with the Jersey Shore theme (every arcade on every boardwalk in NJ has a photobooth). On the left is a picture of the booth. We can pick the color of the curtain. Our vendor supplies props for pictures, which I really don't want but the few people who know about the booth really want them. We love this idea as it serves double duty...a favor for our guests and a unique and fun guest book for us.
We've choosen to get 4x6 prints, doubles of each pose. We haven't decided yet if the photos will be in black & white or color. Our names and date will be imprinted on the bottom. The photos will be cutting down the middle. The guests will keep one for themselves and we will have adhesive magnets strips available for them to make the photostrip into a fridge magnet. We bought two rolls of 2" x 50' of magnetic tape from Magnet Supply and will make 200 2" x 6" strips.

The other photo strip will be used for our guestbook. We bought this 8" x 8" scrapbook and will dress it up with ribbon and a rhinestone buckle.  Our guests will then glue the photo strip onto a blank page and with pens and stickers, will make their own page. We bought tons of various types of stickers at A.C. Moore when they were 50% off.

OOT Welcome Bags

To follow along with my informal Jersey Shore theme, our welcome bags for our out-of-town guests will be plastic sand pails. Inside these, we're planning on putting two water bottles, *do not disturb* door signs, mini bottles of sunscreen, Mars brand chocolates, (made in NJ), bags of pretzels and peanutbutter filled crackers.

Door Signs

We found packs of three thick cardboard door signs in Michael's for $1.  My sister created the design below and we printed them on sticker paper, and pasted them onto the Michael's signs.  We'll put them in the OOT pails. She made some for us also...one in our wedding colors, one in a black and white version (to match the 'honeymoon bag' she gave me at my bridal shower), and one in Greek, for our honeymoon itself.
